On the occasion of the Best Innovator Award 2017, SIR participated on June 21st at the conference about “Strategic Technology Trends and Business Challenges”, organized by the Bologna Business School, in collaboration with MIT Technology Review. Mr. Davide Passoni had the opportunity to present the SIR solutions to Mr. Romano Prodi and Mr. Calenda, current Minister of Economic Development, who took action in the event.
Among the other leading speakers, Sandro Salmoiraghi, President of Federmacchine, Jamie Condliffe, MIT Technology Review’s Associate Director of News and Commentary, Carlo Bozotti, Chairman and CEO of ST Microelectronics, as well as members of Leonardo Finmeccanica, Marposs, Balluff, Bucci, Alumotion.
After a brief presentation of the company, Mr. Davide Passoni focused on applying the concepts of Industry 4.0 to the world of robotics and automation, paying particular attention to what will be future developments in this field.
The introduction of artificial intelligence, with the purpose of providing decision-making or self-learning capabilities to machines, will be a key step in the direction of smart production, acting as a real launch pad for what will be the next industrial revolution: Industry 5.0. At the end of the event, SIR was awarded as Nursing and Disruptive Company 2017 by Mr. Romano Prodi and Mr. Calenda. The next day, Mr. Davide Passoni presented the candidates for the Young Innovators Award 2017, performing as an event mediator.
The award was reserved for under 35 years researchers from the university and industry world, who have particularly distinguished for the implementation of innovative projects in robotics, immunotherapy, digital finance, innovative energy and aerospace.
